" If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will kill you."    The Gospel of Thomas, Verse 70

Hello and welcome to my web site. The site is a work in progress and will continue to grow and change over time.

I have been an artist and poet for over 30 years. I hold a B.A. in Art from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, MI and have done graduate work in Art Therapy at Russell Sage College in Albany, NY. I have also studied with Marcus Alexander and Deni Whalen at the New York Expressive Arts School and been published in IEATA the Newsletter of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and have practiced Mindfulness Meditation for the past twenty years. I have led workshops as a Creativity Coach and am currently engaged in developing a program that would connect all those who view the world as holy and magical.

My art and poetry have been inspired by the mystery and wonder that lives in the natural world. I live in upstate New York across the road from my neighbors, the cows, and can be reached at cfults@nycap.rr.com.

NEW PROJECT

Along with 5 other artists - Marilyn Rock, JuliAnn Goronkin, Janey Tanguay, and michelle Vera - I have developed an event called "Art Gone Wild" which is a celebration of the 5 Rivers Environmental Center. The event will open on Saturday May, 16, 2009 and will feature a day of art demonstrations, workshops and exhibits. The exhibit it self will remain up until mid June, with the exception of the sculptures which will stay until the school season begins in September. If you are in the area and want more information about this event, please drop me a note at cfults@nycap.rr.com.

Prayer Takes Flight (An Artist's Statement)

This morning poems and prayers appeared in the paint

as I smudged colors on an unfolding canvas.

Verses of joy, gratitude and aspirations for truth and life

   jumped from the luminous hues

and when I chased after them

I saw yearnings, previously snared in drying pigments,

rushing freely upward on beams of rainbow suns

   shimmering in the snow.

All today I searched to see where my fleeing hopes had gone

and now, in the evening sky

I see where they have landed.

There are the poems of my heart bouncing in the star lights

and my desires are taking voice

in the cries of the night hawk.

And my paintings have not ended with the departure of those prayers

for, no longer trapped on a canvas

the visions sparkle with renewed awareness

   of their Heavenly Source

and return to rain stains and pictures of love and holy light

upon the flat cloth surfaces of artists

and the rolling skin of earth.
